Spring Dress Front View

I Wanna Dance with Somebody!

Hi friends! Do you like to get dressed up to go out on the town? What are your favorite activities when you do go out?

Spring Party Dress

When I saw the Back to Basics Party Dress Die from Keep it Simple, I had to create a pretty spring dancing dress. I cannot tell you how much fun I had creating this beautiful card.

To create my dress, I began by die-cutting the card base from heavy white card stock and set it aside. I created a beautiful background using the fun Overlapping Circles Stencil from the Bunny Season Collection. I am a huge fan of layering stencils, as they make it really easy to create beautiful backgrounds using multiple colors. I paired the stencil with some of my favorite Distress Oxide Inks: Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers and Villainous Potion.

I wanted to do some paper-piecing for my dress, so I die-cut the dress piece once from white cardstock, and I then used the same die to die-cut the skirt from the stenciled panel that I created. I used the die one more time to create the bodice, which I cut from teal cardstock.

I adhered a strip of pink card stock to the lower portion of the card base, followed by the white dress piece. I then began paper-piecing the inserts that I had die-cut in the previous step. To complete my card, I die-cut the flower from purple cardstock and adhered it to a loopy bow using my hot glue gun. I added a rhinestone to the center of the flower, because every pretty dress deserves a bit of bling!
